Crossing Europe'06
This is the second year i'm attending the Austrian Film Festival in Linz. Unfortunatly i have to work two days during the festival and therefore i wont be able to see as many films as last year! It's good to see friends again and get the networking running. My "festival teammates" are: Julia, Lena and Neil Young! Julia writes for www.winetimes.at / www.allesfilm.com, Lena writes for
www.furche.at / www.allesfilm.com and Neil for www.jigsawlounge.co.uk.
Opening night:
Stesti: Czech Film which takes us on a journey of secret love, despair, faith and goodwill. Very well done, shot beautifully, edited with a feeling for personal stories and emotions
Day 1:
-
Guernsey : A breathtaking film: very Nouvelle Vague revisited, well edited, very good camera and a story, which takes a while to grab your attention, but then it grabs you and only in the end your tension will be released.
Process: A stunning visual experience, sometimes a little bit to much voyeuristic an violent, but it's a new way to involve the audience. From an editors point of view, good and rhytmic editing, enhanced by the music of John Cale
Kontakt: Unconvinient love story, quite readable what's going to happen next, but with some funny turns. A Film which deals in a way realistic with post war traumas and people having survived it
